Since the first Industrial Revolution, many changes in manufacturing have been produced. Nowadays, manufacturing processes are more complex and automatic, therefore Industry 4.0 is a new trend which wants to introduce new ways of automation and security in the industry. However, how to achieve the implementation of Industry 4.0 is as yet uncertain. This article aims to explain the existing gap between the current manufacturing industry and the requirements proposed by Industry 4.0.
