Because of its environmental friendliness and economic feasibility, the worldwide number of wind farms has been increasing for several years now. Although wind energy is a mature technique for producing green energy, every particular construction project is a complex undertaking with special needs regarding planning and execution. Alongside with a high number of proponents of wind power, there are many opponents for different reasons as well.

One aspect of the project management has to be treated seperately: managing the involved stakeholders and the communication within these relationships.

Therefore, after a short introduction to stakeholder management in general, the article will mention firstly the different involved parties in a wind power construction project and descibe their particular singularities and possible difficulties which may arise respective this persons or groups.

As a second step, these stakeholders will be mapped in a stakeholder impact/probability matrix in order to outline their different postitions regarding both power/influence and the risk which comes from them.

Finally, the article will deal with the exact handling and interaction of the particular stakeholders in order to disarm possible risk factors as well as influencing the stakeholders in the sense of the project to ensure it´s success.
