The Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) is a method used in project management for planning the tasks of a project. It is based on a network analysis of the different tasks that constitute a project.

It is based on a network diagram analysis of the different tasks that are involved. PERT is specifically suited for large, complex and nonrepititive projects, since the network diagram varies in each project.
