Conceptual levels of competence
Abstract
When it comes to the term competence , there is not a consensus definition of it, because a variety of relevant researchers have their own interpretation. No debate would be made to prove which definition is highly recognized, and, to be precise, it mainly refers to project management(pm-) competence in this article. Project management competence can be defined as the capability, to perform the project management process professionally. And pm-competence is not only related to individuals, but also project teams and organisations.[1] In a project-oriented company, to understand, what project management competence is, how vital the role of pm-competence in project management, how to integrated pm-competence into project management process, and how to improve pm-competence for better project deliverables, is of great importance.
The following article would mainly focus on three aspects: 1) pm-competence of individuals; 2) pm-competence of project teams; 3) pm-competence of organisations. Moreover, an outline of project management and the application of this theory as well as limitations would also be given.
