Abstract
Initially created by George T. Doran in the Management Review(1981), the SMART goals can be classified as an achievable goal setting technique. The acronym SMART stands for: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time bound. It represents a tool for the vision establishment in project management being in line with the purpose perspective of projects. An achievable goal setting is of great importance in any project - whether of private or work-related kind - hence, using a method that allows to generate success substantially related to its original efforts is of high value for any project manager. Due to SMART's great scope in diverse industrial areas, a deep investigation of its traits and simultaneously reflecting potential limitations will be conducted as follows.
