A SWOT model is used to analyze the strategical situation within a company. The purpose of SWOT model is to clarify the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats in a company. The model is split into internal factors (strength and weakness) and external factors (opportunities and threats). It is used for analyzing an organization's current state and for improvement in order to compete with competitors.
