ABSTRACT

This article will attempt to look at the scope of using Key Performance indicators (KPI) and how to implement them in knowledge based companies. It will attempt to include:

  • An overview of current theories regarding KPIs as well as an overview of what the standards within Project, program and portfolio management include or exclude in the regards of KPIs.
  • A handful of different KPIs that can be viewed as useful suggestions and inspiration for KPIs that could give a proper picture of the progress and/or employee satisfaction within a project, program or portfolio.
  • A description for the approach of how these KPIs could be implemented. This part will include one-two small software solutions, to avoid the requirement of having a large SAP-system to build the KPIs on.
