Abstract

Adaptive Project Framework (APF) is a methodology used in project management where the need to constantly adapt to the changing environment of a project. (2) This is a systematic and structured process that allows project managers to enhance their practices and decisions gradually. (1) Therefore, with this approach, nothing is fixed: neither the duration of the project, nor the budget, nor the risks, and everything can be continuously adjusted according to changes in the project's characteristics. (2) This is a costumer driven process who determines each next step of the project.

The process in adaptive project management allows you to improve decisions and practices during the project life cycle based on learning from previous results obtained during the project. The process is an adaptive structured and systematic iterative process. Developed from agile project management but with more adaptive processes. Adaptation and evolutions principles from biology. Uncertainty is accommodated and the method prepares the team to respond to the unexpected, where "learning by doing" is one of the key principles. Results and decisions are continually being evaluated with a flexible mindset of the team members.
